Double anniversary at Sanrio: the 40 years of My Melody and Little Twin Stars
They’re 40 years old but it doesn’t seem like that! After the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty, in 2015 it’s time for a double party: the birthdays of My Melody and Little Twin Stars. Sanrio unveiled in the last days the concepts (and the first accessories) for the celebrations of two of the brand most popular characters, that in this period are living a second youth.
Kiki & Lala Cafe: in Tokyo opens the most kawaii diner
If you are in Tokyo and a little hungry, now you can relax with Little Twin Stars. It opened at Shibuya Parco, in fact, the Kiki & Lala Cafe, a bar and restaurant entirely devoted to Sanrio twins (in collaboration with THE GUEST cafe&diner).
Little Twin Stars meet the Care Bears
Once upon a time there was the Eighties. Many of us will remember with nostalgia the toys that kept us company at that time (the most forgetful of you can refresh their memory visiting our friends at Nijirain). While in Japan Little Twin Stars were a big hit, in our part of the world the girls went crazy for the Care Bears, the characters invented by American Greetings that have been the object of desire for all women in their (nearly) thirties of today.
Collaborations: Little Twin Stars x Kayo Horaguchi
A new collection dedicated to Little Twin Stars is about to arrive on Japanese stores, created with the collaboration of Japanese designer Kayo Horaguchi and, in our opinion, really pretty and original. The line includes bags, t-shirts, accessories, items for the home and iPhone covers where the little protagonists are immersed in the fantastic world created for them by Horaguchi.
Kiki & Lala Style: the nail salon dedicated to Little Twin Stars
In Japan, there are also thematic manicure salons! In this case, the protagonists are nothing less than Little Twin Stars, Sanrio twins who have lent their faces (and ethereal style) to the nail salon chain Kiki & Lala Style, complete with a stamp of approval by Sanrio.
Sanrio Illustrations exhibition in Tokyo
On February 6th, a fantastic exhibition dedicated to Sanrio characters opened in Tokyo! Customers of Tom’s Sandwich, a bar in Daikanyama (Shibuya), infact, have the pleasure to admire and buy a series of beautiful pieces made by Sanrio artists.
