Japan at Expo 2015: from Hello Kitty to Japan Day

The countdown to Expo 2015, the Universal Exposition that is going to start on May 1st in Milan, is ending and here in Italy everyone is talking about the event… even us! Japan in fact will be one of more than 130 countries represented: here is what’s in store for fans of Japanese culture (and food)!

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu x Mameshiba

Do you know Mameshiba? You have probably already seen these strange little beans with the ears of a dog (the name is a fusion between the word “mame”, meaning “bean”, and the Shiba Inu breed). The series was created by Kim Sukwon, a Japanese-Korean copywriter, and in recent years has achieved extraordinary popularity in the world thanks to a series of hilarious commercials. In the movies, the small and adorable Mameshibas pop out of nowhere and offer to humans informations completely out of place (and somewhat disgusting). For example, did you know that more than 200 million germs per second are exchanged through a kiss?
