Lucca Comics 2011: Visual Rock and Supercell

Here is the third part dedicated to the special events occuring during the new edition of the Lucca Comics & Games!

From manga to music: Visual Rock

The Japan Palace will host the European premiere of an interesting documentary about Visual kei: “From manga to music: Visual Rock”! The film is produced by Elokami TV, a company formed by audiovisual enthusiasts of Japanese culture, which have had the opportunity to bring their passion on TV, by making this documentary that will be broadcasted on French tv channel “Mangas” in the near future. The documentary talks about the history of the Visual Kei, its arrival in Europe (especially beyond the Alps) and the links between this music genre and mangas. The appointment for the screening is November 1st at 13:00, at Japan Palace in Lucca, Italy.

Supercell on display

Do you know Supercell? It’s a group of artists and musicians that, as Aki Akane (also with an exhibition at Lucca Comics), has achieved celebrity status thanks to the video sharing site Nico Nico Douga. For their first album, a great success in both Japan and America, Ryo, the group’s leader, has chosen the voice of Hatsune Miku, character of Vocaloid, a voice synthesizer. Also, Supercell treat all aspects of their albums: music, illustrations, packaging and music videos. Supercell’s talent will be on display at Japan Palace in Lucca (first floor) from October 28th to November 1st!
