In Ginza, Tokyo, it’s opening Hello Kitty Art Exhibition, an exhibition of contemporary art, as the name implies, featuring the world’s most famous cat!
Inside the department store Matsuya (one of the most famous shops located in Ginza, selling brands such as Vuitton and Prada), Yuko Yamaguchi will present 17 new works dedicated to Hello Kitty, strawberry version. In addition, almost 200 “historic” objects will be displayed, from the first coin with the image of Kitty (but without name, as she was named shortly after) to one of the first mobile phone pouch, dated 1996.
Under art director Taku Sato, there were also produced 150 limited edition strawberry-themed gadgets. Plush, fans, lovely mugs, clear file and much more will be on sale during the exhibition. Hello Kitty Art Exhibition will run from August 24th to September 5th.
