Watched for you: Sanrio Boys, the new Sanrio anime

Do you remember Sanrio Boys? We talked about them almost a year ago, after the release of the first trailer of the anime that sees them as protagonists. The last of the 12 episodes aired a couple of weeks ago and we bingewatched them one after the other. Studio Pierrot produced the series and it is only the last piece of a multiplatform project that includes a manga, a videogame and a future theatrical show. Here is the plot and our impressions on the animated adventures of Sanrio Boys!

Kawaii at the Movies: Coco

Christmas means lunches and dinners with family, presents to unwrap, but also the new Disney/Pixar movie opening in theatres! This year it’s the turn of Coco, a kaleidoscopic adventure that brings us in the distant Mexico and the far more distant world of the dead. The movie is out in Italian cinemas on December 28th, just in time to relax (and empty the stomach) waiting for New Year’s Eve: let’s talk a bit about it.

Ducktales is back and life in Duckburg is still a hurricane

One of my most vivid childhood memories is this: I have chickenpox and I’m spending all of my convalescence on the couch watching repeatedly Ducktales episodes. The gang that kept us company in the Nineties (in sickness and in health) is now back with a brand new series debuting in Italy, on Disney Channel, Sunday Novembre 26th. And, we assure you, the ducks adventures are still a blast!

Kawaii at the Movies: A silent voice

Ready for a new appointment with anime on the big screen? Next week, in Italy it will be the turn of A silent voice, directed by Naoko Yamada (one of the few Japanese female directors) and one of the biggest success of last year in Japan. The movie arrives in Italy thanks to Nexo and Dynit and it will be in Italian theatres on October 24th and 25th, but we went ahead and we talk about it a bit earlier.

Sanrio Boys: who are the protagonists of the new anime by Sanrio

One of the “problems” of a kawaii girl is that sometimes the people around her, starting from her boyfriend, do not share her passion for everything cute. Well, this is ending soon (at least virtually)! Sanrio, in fact, just launched the first promotional video of Sanrio Boys, the new anime starring a group of high school boys who love the characters of the brand. Handsome and kawaii: what do you want more?

On air in Italy: Kuu Kuu Harajuku, the kawaii animated series by Gwen Stefani

It is not new that pop star Gwen Stefani loves Japanese fashion. Many of you probably remember the song Harajuku Girls, the group of dancers with the same name (which has attracted some criticism to the singer) and the Harajuku Lovers perfume line with the collectable dolls. Maybe, not all of you know that Gwen Stefani transformed her Harajuku Girls (and herself) in characters of an animated series, just landed here in Italy!
