Sentimental Circus

Lately, Fairy Kei was very popular in Japan . Consequently, pastel colors and retro designs made their way also in the wider world of original characters (think of the last series of Hello Kitty or the Rilakkuma anniversaty line). On the other hand, it begins to reappear the other side of kawaii, more gothic, enchanted and nostalgic… a style that I love!

Sentimental Circus

San-x, in fact, has just launched Sentimental Circus, a new line that is quite different from the other offerings during this year. The protagonist is Shappo, a trapeze artist bunny who lives in a circus with his friends, including acrobats, jugglers and jousting, in an atmosphere both romantic and gothic that recalls that of the beginning of the last century.

I liked this line at first sight… I love the vintage style designs (which seem to come out of an old circus poster) and the characters are very sweet! What do you think?
