Nyanpire becomes an anime!

Last year, one of our crushes was Nyanpire, the adorable vampire cat! The Gothic World of Nyanpire” was born from the imagination of yukiusa who in 2009 decided to make a doujinshi (self-produced illustrated magazine) featuring the kitten. The character quickly acquires a discrete group of fans, earning a variety of gadgets dedicated to him. A few months ago, it was announced the upcoming launch, scheduled for the second half of the year, of the animated series entitled “Nyampire – The Animation, produced by Gonzo.

Nyanpire

Nyanpire was a normal little black cat, until the day he was cruelly abandoned and left to starve. Fortunately for him, it was saved in extremis by the bite of a vampire, who gives his blood transforming the cat into a creature of the night. Nyanpire will then live a second, seemingly ordinary life, next to his new human mistress. Obviously, Nyanpire has strange felines friends: Masamunya Dokuganryu, the samurai cat, Nyantenshi, the angel cat, and the sweet kitty Chachamaru.

The character design and direction of the anime will be managed by Takahiro Yoshimatsu, former designer for Trigun, and Natsuko Takahashi, one of the authors of Bleach and Romeo x Juliet, will handle the scripts. As for the cast, it was announced that Ami Koshimizu (Kallen in Code Geass) will be the voice actress of Nyampire, while other roles were assigned to Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch in Code Geass), Noriyaki Sugiyama (Sasuke in Naruto) and Yuko Goto (Mikuru in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). For the curious ones, here’s the first promotional video for “Nyanpire – The Animation”!

UPDATE: “Nyanpire – The Animation” will broadcast every Wednesday from July 6, on Japanese channel Kids Station. It’s also planned a streaming of the episodes on GyaO!, but only for residents in Japan.
