We already talked about it a couple of weeks ago on Twitter: H&M, the popular chain of clothing stores, has included in it’s new spring collection some clothes (t-shirts, leggings and shoes) clearly inspired by Japanese kawaii fashion.
Don’t expect Liz Lisa dresses or references to Gothic Lolita. The series borrows some elements dear to kawaii fashion, like vivid colours or cute faces, and interprets them in a very pop manner, in a couple of cases with questionable results (like the sweater + leggings set with a manga-style character and a galactic background).
We really like the sailor t-shirt, which will be a success among Sailor Moon fans, but the youngest of you probably will love the printed furry pullovers. The real surprise though is the Little Twin Stars maxi t-shirt: a little expensive for a simple printed white shirt, but we are talking about Kiki and Lala!
What do you think of this attempt by H&M to take inspiration from Japanese kawaii fashion? Are you going to buy something or have you already done it? Leave us a comment! 🙂
