Kawaii at the Movies: 5 reasons to watch Beauty and the Beast

Finally one of the movies we most waited this year arrived in theatres: Beauty and the Beast! We will be honest with you: the old animated version was never one of our favourite Disney movies, but the ball scene always made us very emotional. For this reason, we were very excited while watching in the trailers the first images of Belle with her yellow dress in Beast’s arms, with the song we all know very well in the background. Here are our 5 reasons to watch Beauty and the Beast: we loved the movie!

It’s a fairytale coming true

Beauty and the Beast is not the first Disney’s live action remake (and it will not be the last), but never like this time we had the feeling of dream coming true. The movie, in fact, follows faithfully the 1991 version, with scenes that literally seem coming out from the animated feature. What an emotion! Also, the actors were very good in their roles: Emma Watson is an adorable Belle, Dan Stevens is a Prince much more charming than the original (even if we always prefer him as the Beast) and Luke Evans… well, he deserves his own paragraph!

There’s also something new

Even if it’s very similar to the animated version, the live action movie is not a mere copy. In fact, we also have the opportunity to know better some of the characters a bit neglected in the past, in particular Belle’s family and the Beast, who finally has his own (beautiful) song. The surprises are not over: there are also new characters (in the village and at the castle), new magic and a nod to the original fairytale. Most of all, we’ve got more time to see the birth of the love between the protagonists, one of the best parts of every version of the story.
