Art and music at Lucca Comics 2011: Aki Akane and ST.WWR

Lucca Comics (Italian biggest comics and games fair) is an eagerly awaited event by all Japanese culture fans, including us. A little over a month before the event, we finally have the first news about events and guests to not miss for japanlovers like us!

The renovated Japan Palace will host the exhibition by the young illustrator and singer Aki Akane. After her debut in 2008 on the pages of Nico Nico Douga video platform, she participates in some musical projects and lands on Pivix, the popular Japanese artists community. Her great talent does not go unnoticed, so that in less than a month she reached a staggering 1 million page views and earns the nickname of Screaming Cinderella, that sums up quite well the peculiar world expressed in her works!

On August 17, Akane Aki released her first single under the TOY’S FACTORY label, antinotice (which we like very much!), for which she design the cover illustration (and there is also a beautiful PV, that you can see below!). Akane Aki’s works will be exhibited at Lucca Comics from October 28th to November 1st in the first floor of Japan Palace (ex Real Collegio).

In Lucca, this year there will also be space for JRock, with the Italian debut of ST.WWR, Visual Kei band that uses the hard rock sounds to carry the public in a mysterious and magical world where nothing is what it seems. ST.WWR will be in concert at Lucca Comics on Monday, October 31 with Pinky Doodle Poodle. The most curious can hear their song, Scream skins, in this page!
